Andrew P. "Andy" Cournoyer, 51 of Fairhaven passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 6, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.&

Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Helen Howard of Fall River, and the late Paul E. Cournoyer. Brother to the late Michelle Cournoyer. He lived most of his life in Fairhaven and attended Old Colony High School. He spent his life as a commercial fisherman and was the Captain of the FV New Sea Rover. Andy enjoyed fishing and hunting and could fix or build anything. He was both a great mechanic and a wonderful woodworker. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles.

He is survived by his mother Helen; longtime companion and love of 20 years, Melissa "Missy" Geary of Marion. Children, Andrew P. Cournoyer-Geary and William H. Cournoyer-Geary both of Marion. Former wife Melissa L. (Martin) Cournoyer of Fairhaven. And children, Kayci M. Cournoyer of Fairhaven, and Matthew P. Cournoyer of Fairhaven. Andy is loved and will be greatly missed by many.
