NEW BEDFORD-Arlene M. Berube, of New Bedford, MA, passed away on October 16, 2023 at the age of 90. She was born in New Bedford and grew up in Fairhaven, a town she was always proud of and recalled often.

She is survived by her loving family, including Son Robert Berube and his wife Cathy; Daughter, Michelle St John and her husband Lou; grandchildren, Justin Berube, Patrick Berube and his wife Stacey, Kayla Christie and her husband Zacary, Matthew St. John; and her great-grandchildren Dawn and Peter Justin Berube; her sister Claire Hammond; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Arlene was predeceased by her ex-husband, Marcel Berube.

Arlene was an amazing wife, mother, boy scout den leader and Sunday school teacher and more. She was always involved in her children's lives. She worked at Acushnet Company for several years and was also a paraprofessional in the New Bedford school system for many years. She loved working with students and teachers. Arlene enjoyed bowling, reading, doing crosswords and being with people.

Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but her spirit will live in our hearts, a lasting reminder of her love, kindness, and strength.

The family expresses many thanks and much gratitude to the people who cared for her at St Luke's Hospital, Vibra Hospital, and the Oaks Rehabilitation.

Arlene's funeral service will be held at Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County St., New Bedford on October 27, 2023 at 12:00 p.m with the repast at Century House in Acushnet, immediately following the service.
