NEW BEDFORD- Arthur E. Medeiros, Jr., 90, of New Bedford passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. He was the loving husband of Florence J. (Boucher) Medeiros.

Born and raised in New Bedford, son of the late Arthur E. Medeiros and Phoebe (Roger's) Johnson, Arthur was a lifelong New Bedford resident. He graduated from the Massachusetts School of Barbering in 1963 and worked as a barber for many years. He also worked at MA Maritime for 20 years until retiring in 2002. Arthur loved music, and entertained at local nursing facilities for years playing the keyboard.

He survived by his beloved Florence; his children, Melody A. Raposa and her husband Antonio of South Dartmouth and Arthur E. Medeiros, III and his former companion, Melissa DeSomma of New Bedford; grandchildren, Karissa A. Raposa and Kevin Allen; great grandchildren, Kassidy Amour Canto and Coraline Allen. Mr. Medeiros was the brother of the late Beverly Rogers and her husband Harry and uncle of the late Gary Rogers.

Calling hours are Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 4-7PM in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford. Funeral Services will be private.
