Barbara Ann Leger, 83, of New Bedford passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, Sunday, August 1, 2021, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford.& She was born in East Providence, RI, daughter of the late Edmond R. and Ellen (Gill) Leger, and she lived in the Greater New Bedford area most of her life, most recently with her Foster Family and caregivers, the DeMelo's in New Bedford

Barbara Ann attended Capeway Adult Day Health in New Bedford and enjoyed ceramics and bowling.

She is survived by her foster mother and caregiver, Maria DeMelo and her family, whom Barbara adored; her dear friends Linda Haskins, Jocylina Pires, Beth the social worker from PRIDE and Mary Jo and Darnel. She was also the sister of Walter Leger and his wife Linda and Sue Alves and her husband Carlos.

Her funeral will be Thursday, August 5, 2021, at 10AM in the Donaghy New Day Funeral and Cremation Care, 465 County St., New Bedford.
