Betty (Edwards) Suarez, 78, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford from complications from COVID 19.& She was the loving wife of 45 years to Justo Suarez, Jr.

Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Miguel Perez and Monserrate (Bonilla) Garcia, she grew up in Brooklyn, NY and lived most of her life in New Bedford. Betty loved to read her Bible and was a wonderful cook and baker.

She is survived by her husband Justo; her children, Michael A. Rodriguez and his wife Ramona of Brooksville, FL, David M. Rodriguez of OK, Dennis M. Rodriguez of Braintree, Steven K. Suarez of New Bedford, Sandra A. Harris and her husband Sam of Jacksonville, FL, Betty T. Pires and her husband Eric of Peoria, AZ and Jessica A. and Cassandra A. Suarez both of New Bedford; 20 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Suarez was the mother of the late John Rodriguez and sister of the late Michael Edwards.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 13, 2021 from 9-10am in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County St., New Bedford.
