NEW BEDFORD-Carol Ann (Carvalho) Chase, 73, of New Bedford passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 16, 2025 after a brief illness.  She was the wife of the late Andrew B. Chase, IV and the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Motta) Carvalho.

She was a graduate of New Bedford High School and had worked at the Star Store as a hairdresser, AC Moore, Whaling City Transit and Dollar General until her retirement.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Melissa A. Chase and her grandchildren, Alexia, Jeremiah and Arianna Garcia;  as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be Tuesday, July 29, 2025 from 9-10:30AM in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM in Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Mt.
