Obituary

Christyne Noelle Nelson, age 66, a lifelong resident of Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital surrounded by her closest friends and family.

Born in Attleboro to the late George and Georgette Nelson on Christmas Day 1958, she was described by her mother as "the best Christmas gift ever". A hardworking and dedicated individual, she built a career as an office manager in finance while also running her own business. Her family came first, however, and she took care to foster a sense of independence in her children. In her younger years, Christyne worked as an usher at Great Woods, a role she cherished for the opportunity it gave her to enjoy live music and connect with others.

Christyne found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved Dunkin' Iced Coffee, Coors Light, cannabis, spending time at the beach, tending to her plants, and birdwatching. She could often be found riding around looking for yard sales with her lifelong friend and partner in crime, Robin. She loved to laugh and enjoyed nothing more than getting together with her siblings to talk about old times.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Michelle Nelson and Carrie Bea Winship; her cherished siblings Janet Nelson, Joanie Barros, Judy Ela, Gordon Nelson, Mark Nelson, Laurie Nelson, and Erik Nelson; as well as many nieces and nephews. Christyne was predeceased by her parents; her sister Karen Quimby; and her brother Sam Nelson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Foley-Cook New Day Funeral Home, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro. A prayer service will be held at 11:30am. Burial will be held privately.
