SOUTH DARTMOUTH-Clara N. Rivera, 90, of South Dartmouth and formerly of New Bedford passed away Sunday, August 30, 2026 peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Gualberto Baez.

Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Perfecto Rivera and Espernasa Mendret, she lived in New Bedford many years where she was a seamstress at various clothing manufacturers. She was the beloved matriarch of the family and she was very loved and will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her loving children, Jose Lange and his fiance Susan Silva, Axel Rivera and Agnes DeMello and her husband Joseph; four grandchildren, Michael Lange, Michelle Telfair and Matthew and Nicholas DeMello; eight great grandchildren; 13 great, great grandchildren; a sister, Carmen Pavao; a brother, Raymond Torres; and many nieces and nephews.
