Danille "Dani"
Chea
May 24, 2025
Danille Chea, lovingly known as "Dani," passed away peacefully at the age of 37 at Hope Health Inpatient Hospice in Providence on Saturday, May 24 after a courageous three-year battle with ovarian cancer. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Born and raised just outside of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Dani brought with her a vibrant spirit and unwavering determination that would define her life. She attended college in Rio de Janeiro, where she pursued a medical education and began to shape her passion for caregiving and healthcare. At just 19, driven by fierce independence and a dream for a better life, she bravely immigrated to the United States on her own.
Dani's strength, compassion, and resilience helped her forge a successful and meaningful career in the medical field. She began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant, where her gentle touch and empathy comforted countless patients. Her journey led her to become a supervisor of phlebotomists at a clinical laboratory, a role in which she took great pride and poured her heart into every day.
Known for her warm smile, boundless generosity, and quiet strength, Dani was a source of light to those fortunate enough to know her. She faced every challenge — including her illness — with grace, bravery, and an unshakable spirit.
Above all, Dani was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She leaves behind her loving husband, Josie Chea, and her cherished daughter, Lorie Vieira, who were the center of her world and the greatest sources of her joy and pride.
She is also survived by her beloved mother, Maria Tereza Sagario Filho, her dear brothers, Pablo and Afonso of East Providence as well as many loving family members in Brazil. In addition, Dani is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her father and mother-in-law, Sophon and Keang Chea of North Attleboro; her brother-in-law Philip Chea and his wife Heather of Cumberland; her sister-in-law Amy Shea and her husband Justin of New York; and her treasured nephew, Dominic Chea. Dani's love extended to many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends across the globe, each of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.
Dani's life was a testament to resilience, kindness, and love. She faced every moment with quiet strength and left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the love she gave so freely.
Calling hours for Dani will take place on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 4-7 PM, at Foley Cook New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 126 South Main St., Attleboro.
