Obituary

David Anthony Amaral, also affectionately known as "Spanky" or "Seven" 59, passed away Wednesday March 13, 2024 at St. Lukes Hospital in New Bedford. David was the son of the late Antone Neves and Hilda (Dias) Amaral.

David was born and raised in New Bedford. David worked as a driver transporting the elderly to their appointments, which brought him great joy. David enjoyed going to the beach, bike riding, skateboarding, and attending family gatherings. He also loved writing original music, playing his guitar and being the lead singer in his band.

David was survived by his children, Anthony Amaral and his wife Noella, and Tyler Andrews, his sister Sharon Souza and her husband David, his longtime companion Donna Andrews, and his grandson Becket. He is also survived by his niece Jennifer Silva and her husband Adir, nephew Aaron Souza and his wife Alicia, his great niece and nephew Lilia and Matthew, as well as many cousins.

Friends and family will be received for a time of visitation, on Friday, April 12th, 2024 from 5-7pm, in Donaghy New Day Funeral Home, 465 County Street, New Bedford, Ma. A memorial to follow at 7pm, officiated by Pastor David Kobliska.
