NEW BEDFORD-David N.Wixon, Sr. aged 67 of New Bedford Massachusetts, passed away peacefully July 10, 2026 surrounded by his family at St. Luke’s Hospital, New Bedford. He was the beloved husband of Linda Wixon with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.

David was born in Boston, son of the late Pearl and Clarence Wixon.

David dedicated much of his life to his career as a singer, and helping people throughout his life. His compassion and commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on those whom he loved. Outside of his professional life he found much joy and pleasure as a father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend.

In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his three sons, David Wixon, Jr. and his wife Brittany, Jonathan Queen and his wife Rebecca and David Cardoza and his girlfriend. He also leaves behind three daughters, Nicole Roderick, Khalia Wixon and Tianna Wixon; 

six brothers, Stephen Wixon and his wife Judith , Danny Wixon and his girlfriend Roberta, Nathan Davison, Meka Wixon, Chris Wixon, Darrell Wixon and his wife Rosario Charlo-Gomez Wixon; two sisters, Donna Howard and her husband Brion and Naomi Wixon; several grandchildren, Jayden, Jamiaha, Brianna, Sofia and Louis Jr.; he also leaves several nieces and nephews, and his Godchild, Unique Lopes and Deidre, his sister.

Calling hours are Monday from 4-7PM in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County St., New Bedford. His funeral service will be Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 10AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
