David Wixon Sr., 67, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully July 10, 2026 surrounded by his loving family at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bedford.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, David was the beloved son of the late Pearl and Clarence Wixon.

David was loved dearly by his wife Linda Wixon. The two shared a devoted 50-year relationship. Throughout his life, David dedicated his life to a career of singing and sharing his talent and passion with others. He was also known for his generous spirit and his willingness to help those in need. His kindness, compassion, and selflessness touched the lives of many and will be remembered by all who knew him.

Above all, David treasured his family. He found his greatest happiness in being a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend. His legacy of love, strength, and generosity will continue to live on through those he leaves behind.

David is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Wixon; his sons, David Wixon Jr. (Brittany), Jonathan Queen (Rebecca), and David Cardoza (girlfriend); and his daughters, Nicole Roderick, Khalia Wixon, and Tianna Wixon.

He is also survived by his brothers, Stephen Wixon (Judith); Danny Wixon (girlfriend Roberta); Nathan Davison; Meka Wixon; Chris Wixon; and Darrell Wixon (Rosario Chrio-Gomez Wixon). He also leaves behind his two sisters, Donna Howard (Brion), Naomi Wixon, and his childhood friend-sister, Deidre.

David was a proud grandfather to Jayden, Jamiaha, Brianna, Sofia, Louis Jr., Devin, Hailey, and Jillian He also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews, as well as his beloved goddaughter, Unique Lopes. David was predeceased by his brother Clarence M. Wixon III.

Calling hours are Monday from 4-7PM in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County St., New Bedford. His funeral service will be Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 10AM in the funeral home followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.
