EAST FREETOWN-Debra Ann (Gross) DeMoranville, 64, of East Freetown passed away Monday, October 26, 2026 at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River after a long period of declining health. She was the former wife of Jefferson D. DeMoranville.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Leroy Gross and Laurel (Pittsley) Benson, she lived most of her life in East Freetown. A home maker, Debra worked at Polaroid and later Stop and Shop while raising her children. She enjoyed going to her church, the East Freetown Congregational Christian Church, reading, fishing, NASCAR and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. She was proud of her American Indian heritage and her Indian name Hawk Woman.

Debra is survived by her children, Jennifer Emerson and her husband William, Michael DeMoranville and his wife Katelyn, Jade DeMoranville and her companion Donald Florindo and Justine DeMoranville and her husband Kyle Paradise; 10 grandchildren, Joshua, William, Jefferson, Michael, Jordin, Danica, Ayedan, Nova, Wyatt and Lainey; her siblings, Elaine Pendergast, Robin Pinard, David Gross, Diane Gross and Leroy Gross, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Jefferson Davis DeMoranville, Jr. and sister of the late Sandra Wetherell and Martha Lucas.
