ACUSHNET-Denise Renee (Ouimette) DiPaola, 65, of Acushnet passed away peacefully Monday, September 22, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife to Rick DiPaola for 46 beautiful years.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Raymond R. And Claire V. (Messier) Ouimette, she was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School in New Bedford. She served as more than a medical assistant at Southcoast Health and New Bedford Medical Associates for over 20 years; Patients and colleagues viewed her as someone they could depend on for help, a laugh, a friend.
Denise was one in a million. Not only was she the best mother to her daughters she was their best friend as well. She has the most loving, supportive and loyal friendships imaginable. Denise was so many people's "person" each with their own special bond that was unbreakable. She made friends through every stage of life and connected with people so effortlessly with her kind, witty, magnetic personality.
She was an animal lover all of her life, especially horses. She was lucky enough to own several but her love for her horse Jackson was immeasurable. He brought a spark of joy to her life that gave her so much meaning.
Denise was the most selfless person. She once said, "if she could have a super power it would be to take away everyone's big problems".
She is survived by her husband Rick; two daughters, Ashley Renee DiPaola and Jennifer Claire DiPaola Quirk; her husband George Quirk and three grandchildren that she cherished Macy, Georgie and Henry Quirk; her siblings, Donald Ouimette, Raymond Ouimette, Jr. and his wife Christine, Susan Kennefick and her husband Bill and the late Gene Ouimette; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
In accordance with her wishes she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 4-7PM in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford. For facility directions or memorial register please visit, www.newdayfunerals.com.
