Obituary

Diane Mary DesRosiers, 76, of Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital.

Diane was born to Joseph and Edith Zawielski on October 26, 1949, in Worcester, Massachusetts. After graduating from Worcester State College in 1971, she married Harry W. DesRosiers, and together they shared 51 years of marriage, building a vibrant life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Diane worked for many years in logistics and transportation management at Baxter-Travenol, where her warmth, kindness, and genuine friendship left a lasting impression on her coworkers, many of whom became lifelong friends.

She will be remembered as a radiant soul who shared love freely and never missed an opportunity to laugh in her unforgettable way with family and friends. Diane gave generously to organizations supporting human rights, children, and animals. She believed deeply in peace, equality, and justice and remained a steadfast advocate for those values throughout her life.

An avid reader, talented gardener, and devoted country music fan, Diane found joy in attending performances at the Providence Performing Arts Center, meeting friends for brunch or bowling, and spending treasured time with her grandnephews, grandniece, and godchildren.

Diane was also a passionate volunteer and advocate for the Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro, where the sloths and red pandas were her favorite residents.

She is reunited with her beloved husband, Harry; her brother, Joe Zawielski; her parents, Joseph and Edith Zawielski; her cherished dog, Merlin; and her beloved cats, Terra, Emmy, and Elphie.

She is survived by her brother, Roy Zawielski, and his wife, Gale; her sister-in-law, Debra Zawielski; her niece, Lori Zawielski; her grandnephews, Brett, Kyle, and Evan Zawielski; her grandniece, Ava Bogosian; and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 4:00-7:00pm in the Foley-Cook New Day Funeral Home, 126 South Main St. Attleboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to, or that you visit, the Capron Park Zoo in Diane's honor.
