Dorothy Louise (Briggs) Aranjo, age 82, of New Bedford sadly passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 in St. Lukes Hospital, she was surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Marion and was the daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Cloyd) Briggs.

Dorothy's favorite pastimes where playing bingo with her sister, Erva and going on bus trips to Atlantic City. She was an incredible Mother, Nana, and Friend; and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Newett Drew Edwards (spouse Jennie), Dale Aranjo (Lee Green), Dennis Aranjo (Cathy Rivera), and Donna Demoranville (spouse Jeff); her daughter-in-law Deborah Edwards; her four grandchildren Sheila and Courtney Chasse, Drew Edwards and Tyler Edwards; her three great-grandchildren, her bonus grandchildren whom she loved as her own and many loving nieces and nephews; especially Kelsey Sykes who she thought of as a granddaughter.

In addition to her parents, Dotty was predeceased by her son David Edwards; her brothers, Louis and Roger Briggs and her sister Erva Paradis. The family is comforted by the knowledge of her being reunited with them in Heaven.

All funeral arrangements will be held privately.
