NEW BEDFORD-Dorothy R. (LeBouf) Pinkney, 95, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Care One of New Bedford, where she had received wonderful care for the past three years. She was the former wife of the late Tobey Pinkney.

Born and raised in Fitchburg, MA, daughter of the late Francis and Rose (Osgood) LeBouf, she settled in New Bedford over 60 years ago and was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church.  Dorothy had worked as a seamstress at Madewell manufacturing for 25 years until her retirement in 1989. Prior to that, she was proud to have worked at David Clark Manufacturing, where she contributed to the early development of space suits for NASA

Dorothy had a deep love for animals and cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Donald Quiet and his wife, Karen, of Taunton, and Brenda Preston and her wife, Sydney, of Carver; six grandchildren, Lawrence and Stephan Quiet, Dawn Stuart, Andrew, Lucas, and Samantha Preston; and four great-grandchildren, Noah and Nathan Quiet, and Piper and Theodora Stuart. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her son, Francis Quiet, and her brothers, Harold, Richard, Donald, and Francis LeBouf.
