Eleanor L. (Perry) Lowe, 92, of New Bedford passed away peacefully at home after a brief illness, Wednesday, April 12, 2023.& She was the loving wife of the late George Lowe.

Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late George S. Perry, Jr. and Frances H. (Fielding) Perry, she was a lifelong resident of the city and graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School. Eleanor had also taken some courses at SMU and had been a teacher's aide in New Bedford and an assistant librarian at the University.

Eleanor enjoyed pottery, ceramics, botany and bird watching in her backyard. She was overjoyed to be able to age in place in the home that she loved with the help of her nephew Ted Taylor III.

She is survived by three children, Paul Lowe and his wife Eva of Tustin, CA, Steven Lowe and his wife Joanne of Ashburn, VA and Jeanne Marie Evenden and her husband Keith of Corvallis, OR; a daughter in law, Dorina Lowe of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Albert and Milton, six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Eleanor was the mother of the late Alan and David Lowe and sister of the late Charlotte, Claire, Gerald, Oliver, Shirley and Eileen.

Calling hours are Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 4-7pm in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County St., New Bedford.
