NEW BEDFORD-Elizabeth Pearl Artis, born in Marion, Massachusetts, on November 25, 1951, passed away on May 19, 2026, at 74 years old, at St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford.

She grew up as a country farm girl in Marion and later spent a long period of her life farming an almond orchard in California. She lived in New Bedford and was known for her dedication as a meat cutter at Stop & Shop for over 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Kerri Kerr, John Kerr, and Arthur Hillier, by Kerri’s husband, David Manson, and by her sisters, Lynn Paulette, Fern Lopes, Roberta Alves, Laura Coggeshall, and by her brother, Malcolm Coggeshall, Jr. She also leaves behind her beloved cats, Pixel and Jinx.

A private service will be held at Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford. A gathering will follow at Willoughby’s Café, 481 Ashley Boulevard, New Bedford on May 26, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
