SOUTH DARTMOUTH-Francis D. Sullivan, 90, of South Dartmouth passed away peacefully Friday, May 24, 2024 with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of 58 years to the late Marie-Anne (Dessaint) Sullivan.

Born in New Bedford, son of the late Francis J.and Jeannette B. (Lachapelle) Sullivan, he settled in South Dartmouth in 1996 and wintered in Tequesta, FL for 25 years.  Frank was a graduate of Cranwell Prep School and Holy Cross 1955. He then served in the U.S.Army stationed in Frankfurt, Germany during the Korean War.  Frank was an owner/operator of Sullivan Brothers Clothing in New Bedford and Dartmouth for many years.

He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing tennis and skiing with his family.  Frank was a longtime member of the Country Club of New Bedford and Riverbend Country Club in Tequesta, FL.

He is survived by his children, Patrice M. "Patty" Sullivan McGinnis of Westwood and Neil P. Sullivan of Jupiter, FL;  four grandchildren, Kevin McGinnis (Adriana) of SanDiego, CA, Daniel McGinnis (Meredith) of Canton, Maura Zarthar (Brian) of Milton and Krista McGinnis (Bruce) of Cambridge;  seven great grandchildren, William, Maeve, Ellie and Lily McGinnis, Brooke and Evie Zarthar and Kyla Pitterson ;  his brothers, his twin Robert Sullivan of Mansfield, Thomas Sullivan and his wife Dina of NC, Lawrence Sullivan and his wife Mary of Pompano Beach, FL and David Sullivan of Coconut Grove, FL;  the late James Sullivan and his wife Louise of Rochester and his sister in law, Louise Roberge of Dartmouth;  and many nieces and nephews.

In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated and a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Monday, June 3, 2024 at 10AM at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth.  Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Bedford.
