Gabriel Llinas, 69, of New Bedford passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford after a long, tough battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of the late Lynne B. Vancour.

Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, on January 7, 1954. He is the son of Marcella (Robles) Gonzalez of Boston and the late Gabriel Llinas Sr. of Puerto Rico. He came over to the U.S at the age of 5.  Gabriel lived in Boston up until he was 37years old. He later moved & settled to New Bedford in 1989, where he spent the rest of his life.  Gabriel loved being a father. He also loved to be outdoors & go for long walks. He enjoyed watching action movies & loved a good fight scene. He loved watching sports, especially the Patriots. Gabriel always had a great story to tell & always had a hot cup of coffee in hand. Gabriel was a very friendly person & had a very captivating smile.

He is survived by his mother; Marcella Gonzalez, his children, Geena L. Llinas and her husband Victor Arce, Gabriel Llinas and his companion Melissa Costeria and Daniel DePina all of New Bedford;  four grandchildren, Mason, Lyndon, Gordon and Gabriel;  9 surviving siblings in Puerto Rico and many nieces and nephews.

Gabriel will be cremated and a memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4-6pm in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford with a small service at 6pm.
