Dartmouth - Gerald "Jerry" Mello, 84 passed away peacefully on September 22, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital.

Jerry was born in New Bedford to the late Antone "Mickey" Mello and Hilda (Mello) Mello.

Jerry was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and always loved to share a "fun fact."

Jerry is survived by his daughters, Sharon Jorge and her husband, Cachito, of Dartmouth, MA and Shelley Haydock and her husband, Allen, of Lewis Center, OH; his six grandchildren, Rachel Jorge, Sarah Jorge, Matthew Jorge, Nicholas Haydock, Zachary Costa and Sofia Costa; his godchildren, Karen Dionne and Gary Mello; nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Costa.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses on the St. Luke's Hospital Wilks Unit, especially Michelle and Kim for their compassion and kindness during Jerry's final hours.
