NEW BEDFORD-Glen D. Varao, 70, of New Bedford passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford with his family by his side.  Born in Acushnet, he was the son of the late Antone M. Varao and Mary Julia (Frates) Stephenson and husband of Charlene J. (Dallaire) Varao.

Glen attended Dartmouth schools and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He worked as a Textile Machinist for many years and later drove trucks for Sid Wainer and Son. He had a real love for family, music and living each day the way he wanted to.

He is survived by his children Kerri Frates of Fairhaven, Jayme Varao of New Bedford,. He also has 4 surviving siblings, 5 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a lot of great friends.
