SOUTH DARTMOUTH—Hazel Baptiste, 92, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2024. She was the wife of the late Joseph Baptiste.

Hazel was born in New Bedford and was the daughter of the late Francis W. Moreau and Rose (Marshall) Moreau.

Hazel was a communicant of the former St. Jon the Baptist Church in New Bedford and an active volunteer for many years at the Dartmouth Senior Center. Hazel loved listening to music and dancing as well as puzzles and needlepoint and she and her husband were fortunate to have taken several memorable trips together over the years.

She is survived by her children, Gary J. Baptiste of Dartmouth, Scott A. Baptiste of Fairhaven, Michelle P. Choquette of New Hampshire and April-Ann Dart of CT; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Rudolph P. Choquette and sister of the late Oliver E. Moreau, Frank J. Morrow and William F. Morrow and Charles Moreau.

Private arrangements are entrusted to the Donaghy-New Day Funeral Home, New Bedford.
