ACUSHNET-Jack S. Sylvia, 63, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2025. He was the loving husband of Karen T. (Lefrancois) SylviaJack was born in New Bedford and was the son of the late Jack Sylvia and Rita (Couto) Sylvia.

Jack was a graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School and was employed as a welder and carpenter for the City of New Bedford for many years. Jack was well known for his skill in craftsmanship. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish and spend time on the water with friends and family. Jack also enjoyed camping with granddaughters and riding his motorcycle and taking trips to see the country. Through Jack's tough exterior was a man who was always there when you needed him and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his two daughters, Stephanie and Jaclynn Sylvia of FL and granddaughters, Jollissa and Madyson and several cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Acushnet Grange #285 1121 Main Street Acushnet, from 11am-3pm. All are welcome.
