NEW BEDFORD-Jaleesa E. Acosta, 32, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly from underlying heart disease at her home Monday, December 2, 2024. She was the loving companion of James "Jim" Miranda of New Bedford.

Born and raised in New Bedford, she was the daughter of Robin (Nunes) Gonsalves of New Bedford and the late David Acosta.  Jaleesa was a direct careworker for the Kennedy Donovan Center.  She loved spending time with her companion, James and her step-son Julian "Juju" Miranda. Also she enjoyed spending time with her mom, and being home napping with her cat Mylo. Jaleesa loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween.

Beside her mom, Robin and her companion James and her step-son Juju, she is survived by his parents, James and Yolanda Miranda of New Bedford;  her siblings, Leonard Gonsalves and his wife Kelly, Christina Williams, Jannalee Acosta, Nancy Cardoza, David "DJ" Acosta, Anthony Acosta,Michael Acosta and the late Stephanie Acosta;  and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her visitation and funeral will be Friday, December 6, 2024 from 10:30AM-12PM in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford followed by interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford
