ACUSHNET-Janice Dion, 63, of Acushnet passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Ida (Furtado) Dion. She was the former wife of David Souto.

Janice had worked at Shaw's Super Market in Dartmouth and in Fairhaven. She loved animals and socializing with her friends.

She is survived by her son, Jacob Souto of Acushnet; her sisters, Maryjane Dion of Acushnet and Joanne Thibodeau and her husband Paul of Freetown; her very good friend, Kevin DeCosta; her former husband, David; two stepsons; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Janice was the sister of the late Moe Dion.
