Jean (Ducharme) Foley, age 84, a cherished resident of North Attleboro and Attleboro, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at the Attleboro Life Care Center. Loving wife of the late John Foley, Jr.
She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Blanche (Levesgue) and Armand Ducharme. She received her education in the Lowell school system, laying the foundation for a life marked by resilience and dedication.
Jean spent many years contributing to the jewelry industry in the Attleboro area, where her meticulous work was highly valued. In addition to her career in jewelry, she briefly served as a Certified Nursing Assistant, demonstrating her compassion and care for others. A woman of varied interests, Jean found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid Bingo player, often accompanied by her dear friend Mae. Her love for travel was evident in her cherished visits to her son in Florida. Jean was also a talented crocheter, known for crafting beautiful blankets for those she held dear. Her affection for her feline companions was well-known, and they brought her much comfort and joy.
Jean's life was a testament to her strength and perseverance, having bravely survived breast cancer twice. Her courage and determination were an inspiration to all who knew her. Jean leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and resilience. Her memory will be cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
Survived by daughters, Michele Foley and Rita Pietraallo and her husband Michael; grandchildren Angela, Rachel and her husband Eric, Jessica, Courtney, Danielle, Paula, Abigail and Isabelle; her great grandchildren Wesley, Theodore, Mathew, Oliver and Benjamin; her nephews Donald and Richard Lavigne and her niece Sandra Derian.
In addition to her husband, Jean is predeceased by her sons, Robert Foley and John Foley, III and her sisters Rita Lavigne and Lucille Dergarabedian.
Jean's family would like to thank the entire staff at Attleboro Life Care for their care and compassion throughout her short stay there.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 from 4-6pm in the Foley-Cook New Day Funeral Home, 126 South Main St., Attleboro.
