NEW BEDFORD-Jerry L. Settlemire, 66, of New Bedford passed away peacefully, Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford, after a long illness.

Born in Kimball, Nebraska, son of the late Richard and Elizabeth (Burt) Settlemire, he lived in the New Bedford area most of his life. Jerry graduated from Apponequet High School and later worked as a mixer driver for over 30 years for L&S Concrete until his illness.

Jerry enjoyed building models, watching NASCAR, fishing, camping and hunting in his youth. He was a competition marksman and member of the Sippican Rod and Gun Club in Rochester.

He is survived by his siblings, Donald Settlemire and Linda Bucklin and her husband Earl all of New Bedford;  nieces and nephews, Tammie, Meloney, Sarah, Ian, Brandon, Bethany and Chelsea;  and several great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Beverly Irwin.
