Jo Ann King, 58, of New Bedford Ma passed away at Hathaway Manor from a brief illness on 12/28/2023. She was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico to the late Doris Awilda Morales and Gerald Lee King. She has resided in New Bedford, Ma since 1995 where she was most recently remembered for her time as a Property Manager.

She was a free-spirited, kind-hearted, fiery woman who was known for living life on her terms. She fiercely loved her family and some of our best memories are at the millions of get-togethers we have had. She was the life of the party and had the most infectious genuine laugh. Her summers were spent either in her nicely set up backyard grilling with family, tending to her garden, or most famously known for being a beach babe. I'm sure had she ever been given the opportunity she would have loved to live at the beach. Jo Ann was also known most for her impeccable cooking and how she generously offered everyone food in true old Puerto Rican fashion.

She was preceded in death by both her parents. She is survived by her only daughter, Ebony Ocasio, son-in-law Hendrick Hernandez-Resto, grandson Nasir E. Hernandez, and her granddaughter Eliza J. Hernandez, her seven siblings Jacquelyn Stone of Illinois, Bradley Stone of Washington, Samuel King of Florida, Elton King of Puerto Rico, Juan Carlos Crespo of Puerto Rico, Geovanah Morales of Massachusetts, and Rosemary King of Arizona and their families. She is also survived by all her nieces and nephews (which are many) whom she adored and doted on every moment she could. Her Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 5, 2023 from 4-7pm in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford.
