NEW BEDFORD-John D. Martin, 85, of New Bedford passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. Born in Fairhaven, he was the son of the late Virginio and Sophie (Cabral) Martin. John had been employed by AFC Cable until his retirement.

He is survived by his daughter, Meagan Eppard and her husband Matthew Eppard of Gloucester Point, VA. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Jacob Martin, Tayla Martin, Ava Eppard, Owen Eppard, Lylah Eppard, and Connor Martin ( great grandson).

John's family also includes his sister Evelyn Sylvia and her husband Richard Sylvia of Fairhaven, MA. Nephews Stephen Sylvia and Richard Sylvia Jr., nieces Sharon Sylvia (Luisi) and Debbie Sylvia (Perry), along with numerous great-nieces and great-nephews who will cherish his memory.
