Obituary

Joshua P. Bell, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. Born in Hyannis, he was the son of Walter Bell and Drena Perry. Joshua grew up in Centerville MA, where he rode BMX dirt bikes, the skateboard, and was an avid rollerblader who enjoyed playing lacrosse. He went right to work after school and was a mover at Eldredge and Bourne Allied Van Lines for 10 years and was featured in CCT when he was the bartender at Kendrick's in the early 2000's. Joshua had no children but was a major part of the lives of 4 of his nieces S'Deja Soares, A'Mani Freeman, N'Zhia Bell and E'Lize Williams. He has been helping to take care of his mother Drena Perry for the past 15 years as well as working at the Melodie Tent concessions for 8 seasons until 2022.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his siblings: Iyesha Bell, Malik Staten, Wesley and Whitley Almeida, nieces: S'Deja Soares, A'Mani Freeman, N'Zhia Bell, E'Lize Williams, Malika and Jakora Staten, Malaysia Fuller Staten, and Rena Mooney, nephews: Malik and Jace Staten, 4 great nieces, uncles, Gerald Stanley, Ricky Bell, Perry Bell and LeRoy Baucom, aunts: Vicky Bell, Deborah Bell-Campbell, Doris Bell-Elijah, Betty Hayes and Nellie Baucom and too many cousins and friends to name. He will be Missed by all he touched.

Calling hours for Joshua will take place on Monday, August 26, 2024 from 4-7PM at the Donaghy New Day Funeral Home 465 County St., New Bedford.
