MARION-Joyce Tomasik, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sippican Health Care Center in Marion, MA. Joyce was born in Middleboro, MA to the late Edward J. Tomasik and Louise M. Tomasik. She was preceded in death by her two siblings, Edward J. Tomasik Jr. and Samuel F. Tomasik. Joyce is survived by her sister, Susan Gidley of New Bedford and her husband, Earle and their daughter, Amy Blinstrub and her husband, Christopher as well as by her sister-in-law, Sally Tomasik and nephews Sam and Karl Tomasik. Joyce graduated from Newton-Wellesley Hospital School of Nursing in 1968. Upon graduation, Joyce embarked on a long dedicated career of nursing as a much loved R.N. First, she worked alongside Dr. Clifford Craig, who became a lifelong friend, at Lakeville State Hospital. After Lakeville closed she continued her nursing career at Morton Hospital in Taunton. Joyce was always loved by her patients as well as co-workers due to her happy smile, dedication to her work, and her kind, generous spirit. She truly loved being a nurse. Joyce loved spending her summers on Snipatuit Pond in Rochester and shopping at Building #19 and T. J. Maxx. She will be terribly missed by family, many long time friends as well as the many dedicated staff members who took such good care of her at Sippican these last seven or so years.
