Julio Collazo, age 84, of New Bedford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 23, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Santurce, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Julio and Cruz (Mendez) Collazo, and the beloved husband of Dionisia (Rodriguez) Collazo. Julio was best described as a hard working, fun loving, carefree guy who did all that he could to provide for his family. He enjoyed playing poker, loved his "medicine" and loved spending time with his family especially he is grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved with all his heart.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Jorge Collazo and his wife Carmen, Evelyn Collazo and her partner Yessenia, and Eduaro Collazo, and his wife Ashley, daughter in law: Cindy, siblings: Julia Calderon, Blanca Iris Hernandez-Floria, Norma Collazo Porche, grandchildren: Betsy Guzman & Miguel Guzman, Krystal, Carlos, David, Kayla, Haileigh and Andrew Collazo, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Carlos and Wilfred Collazo, and brother of the late Wilfredo Jesurun, Cruz Medeiros, Luis A. Collazo Sr. and Gladys Texeira.

Calling hours for Julio will take place on Wednesday. March 26, 2025 from 10AM-12PM at Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County St., New Bedford with a small service immediately following at 12PM. Burial to follow at Rural Cemetery in. New Bedford.
