NEW BEDFORD-Kenneth A. Houtman, 77, of New Bedford passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family, after a long period of declining health. He was the loving husband of 41 years to Linda S. (Barboza) Houtman.

Born and raised in New Bedford, son of the late Williston and Frances (Hazell) Houtman, Kenneth was a supervisor at Ocean Spray for over 20 years until his retirement in 1999. Kenneth found joy in the simple things, such as listening to his radio, oldies but goodies and praise and worship music. Watching classic western movies, camping, fishing and traveling was his favorite pastime. Kenneth always looked forward to family get-togethers. He is known as the best storyteller and was a great example for all. Kenneth was a Godly man who loved Jesus, great listener and loved attending church services and fellowshipping with his church community.

He is survived by his loving wife Linda; nine children, Pennie Marie Hill and her husband Michael of Tampa, FL, Kenneth A. Houtman, Jr. of CT, Dustin A.

Houtman of New Bedford, Aaron J. Houtman and his wife Felicia of Fall River, Seth D. Houtman and his wife Fiona, Jared L. Houtman and his wife Alyssa,

Phillip J. Houtman, Sarah L. Houtman and Rebekah L. Romilus and her husband Jeffrey all of New Bedford; three siblings, Lucy Woods of Indiana, Dennis Houtman of New Bedford and Richard Frates and his wife Robin of Tennessee; many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Kenneth was the brother of the late Wallace Houtman, Rosalie Allen, Lola Pennebaker,

Billie-Marie Gomes, Russell Houtman and Claire Arruda and Grandfather of Aubrey Lynn Jordan.
