Obituary

NEW BEDFORD-Lillian L. (Perrier) Plocharczyk, 92, passed away peacefully at home Monday, March 2. 2026.  She was the wife of the late Chester Plocharczyk and loving companion of the late Edward Doherty.

Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Joseph P. Perrier and the late Lillian L. (Townsend) Almeida, she was a graduate of New Bedford Vocational High School and a lifetime member of the People's Christian Church in New Bedford.

Lillian loved spending time with her family and cherished every moment together. She enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, but her greatest joy was caring for her home.  She loved cooking, keeping the house in order and making sure everyone around her felt welcome and cared for. Several people considered Lillian to be like a second mother, because of her nurturing manner.

She is survived by her children, Cheryl Tolman-Duff of New Bedford, David Plocharczyk of Nashua, NH, Bruce Plocharczyk and his wife Patty Peterson of Waltham and the late Christopher Plocharczyk;  her grandchildren, Michael Plocharczyk and his wife Lauren, Amy and Kaitlyn Plocharczyk and the late James and Ryan Tolman;  great grandchildren, Mason Tolman and Austin Bohl;  also survived by Sarah O'Driscoll, who was like a granddaughter to her;  and several nieces and nephews.  Lillian was the sister of the late Ann Boswell, Gladys Swallow, and Ronald, Irving and Milton Perrier.

In accordance with her wishes private service were held under the direction of the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford.  She was laid to rest in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Bedford.  For memorial register please visit, www.newdayfunerals.com.
