Lula C. (Miller) Wareing, 94, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital on July 16, 2024.  Born in New Bedford she was the daughter of the late Jack and Hilda (Perry) Rogers, and spent her entire life in New Bedford, before moving to Dartmouth four years ago. She was also the wife of the late John P. Wareing until his passing on April 23, 2009. Lula worked for Cornell Dubilier for 21 years and then went on to Morse Tool followed by Universal Hat where she stayed until she was 65. She loved going for walks, being outdoors, being a social butterfly who cared for everyone especially her family.

Surviving is her daughter: Susan Ledoux (husband Leo), niece: Charlene Riggin, and numerous nieces, nephews,  great-nieces and great nephews, great-great-nephew born this year and her beloved cat J.B.. She was also the sister and brother-in-law of the late Dorothy and Gilbert Santos; and aunt to of the late Joseph "Skip", Kenneth, and Gordon Riggin; and great-nephew Robert Riggin.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the nursing at St. Luke's on the Crapo unit for their exceptional care of Lula.

Calling hours for Lula will take place on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 1-4 PM at Donaghy New Day Funeral Home 465 County St., New Bedford. Her funeral service will take place on Monday July 22, 2024 at 10AM in the funeral home. Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Fairhaven.
