Peggy Ann Dayton, a beloved sister and aunt, passed away at Toby Hospital on October 11 after battling a long illness. She was born on August 11, 1954 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to the late Joseph Thomas (Dziewguc) Dayton and Margaret (Smith) Dayton of Berlin, MA.
Peggy grew up in Berlin, MA, where she lived most of her life with her four brothers and two sisters. Peggy was a graduate of Tahanto Regional High School (1972) and Leominster Hospital School of Nursing (1975). After graduating from nursing school, Peggy worked at Country Side Nursing Home in Framingham and soon became Director of Nurses. Peggy also worked in the Intensive Care and Coronary Care Units of Waltham Hospital during the late 1970's and early 1980'S. Peggy had a special place in her heart for the elderly of whom she cared for the majority of her nursing career.
Peggy loved to travel and one of her fondest memories was of her trip to Egypt where she rode camels and horses in the Sahara Desert. Peggy was an excellent cook and loved preparing and cooking for the holidays and summertime get-togethers. Peggy also loved her country and was a proud supporter of MAGA. She was very proud to be an American!
Peggy is predeceased by both her Mother and Father and her brother Joseph Thomas Dayton II of Lunenburg, MA, as well as her beloved dogs Ronnie-Reagan and Nathaniel. She is survived by her two sisters Cathleen Kittredge of Wareham, MA and Laurie Curtis of Rochester, MA, her three brothers; Michael Dayton of Milford, MA. Jon Dayton of Worcester, MA and Christopher Dayton of Boylston, MA, as well as four nieces, three nephews and many great nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Peggy's wishes were for cremation and requested a private Celebration of Life with her family.
The family would like to thank the staff of Toby Hospital who gave Peggy wonderful care during her illness as well as Mellisa Swartz, Peggy's home healthcare giver.
