Mary F. Kells, 83, of Acushnet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2023 in Alden Court Nursing Care in Fairhaven.& She was the devoted wife to the late William A. Kells Jr.

Born in New Bedford, she is the daughter to the late Arthur F. Howard and the late Sophronia (Wood) Howard. Mary was raised in Acushnet and attended local schools. After her graduation, she went on to attend Lasalle College. She then went on to work for John Hancock as a Secretary. Mary held a strong devotion to her faith and family. She was a member of the Long Plain United Methodist Church for many years and was a very active member in various activities.

Mary leaves behind her two children; Melissa Kells of Maryland and Ashley Kells of Maryland. She is the sister to Ellen Hardy and her husband Robert of Acushnet and sister in law of Janet MacGray of Danvers. Mary also leaves behind many cousins.

Funeral arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the care of Donaghy New Day Funeral Home 465 County Street New Bedford 02740. Celebration of Mary's Life will be held in the Long Plain Untied Methodist Church in Acushnet on Saturday, March 25th at 11:00am
