Patience J. "Patty" (White) Butler, 86, of New Bedford passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Butler.

Born and raised in New Bedford, daughter of the late Robert M. and Josephine Mary (Barnes) White, she was a lifelong resident of the city, graduate of New Bedford High School and longtime active member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church where she worked at the Consignment Shop.

She loved spending time with her family, and is survived by her children, Donna Mello and her husband Alfred of Albemarle, NC, Kelly Canasta of New Bedford, Scott Butler and his wife Diane of Dartmouth and Jeffrey Butler and his wife Karin of Fairhaven;& six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and Mrs. Butler was the grandmother of the late Jason Rodrigues.
