NEW BEDFORD-Paul N. "Hutchy" Hutchinson, 67, passed away on November 5, 2023 after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Polly (Holden) Hutchinson, with whom he shared 15 years of marriage.

Paul was born in New Bedford and was the son of the late Nathan Hutchinson and Mary (Losego) Hutchinson.

Paul was a 1974 graduate of New Bedford High School, and served as a police cadet before becoming one of the first hires of the newly formed New Bedford Emergency Medical Services. Paul went on to hold a 30 year career with the city of New Bedford EMS and was also employed as a part time police officer and EMT with the Town of Mattapoisett. Paul enjoyed volunteering his time annually at the New Bedford Half Marathon and was an avid traveler. He enjoyed taking cruises with his wife to the Caribbean and traveling south to visit his family. Paul was an easy going, dedicated and hard working man who was well known as someone you could always count on, and will be deeply missed by his family and those who knew him best.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Joshua Hutchinson and his fiancé Diane Ashley of Fairhaven, Marc Hutchinson and his wife Jaclyn of MD, Katie Martinez of FL, Timothy Daniel and his wife Jessica of Fairhaven, Laura Daniel of New Bedford; grandchildren, Lily, Benjamin, Christian, Alex, Aubrianna, Thomas, Graham, Penelope, and Eleanor as well as countless lifelong friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 4-7pm in the Donaghy-New Day Funeral Home, 465 County St., New Bedford.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10am in St. Joseph Church, Spring St., Fairhaven. Relatives and friends are invited to attend directly to the church, please arrive no later than 9:45am.
