Obituary

ATTLEBORO-On May 26th 2026, we gather to honor and remember a remarkable man, Phil Barlow, who has left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He was the very heart of a loving family. Phil was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, who made his family the center of his universe. His life was a testament to the strength of love, hard work, and loyalty.

Phil's greatest joy was his family. His beloved wife, Laurie J. Barlow of 48 yrs, was his partner in all things, and together they built a life filled with love and laughter. In Phil's own words Laurie was his best friend and the love of his life. Phil was a proud father to Philip M. Barlow Jr. And his wife Renee, Stacey L. Barlow, and Christopher M. Barlow, as well as a proud Papa survived by his beloved grandchildren Philip M. Barlow III, Calliroe H. Barlow, Joshua N. Somers, Konur E. Barlow, Samuel Pagan, Allie J. Moyer, Isabella R. Bethoney, Reagan E. Barlow and he cherished every moment spent with them. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he delighted in watching them grow, always ready with a story, a lesson, or a gentle word of encouragement. Phil was also expecting his first great-grandchild (To be named in his honor) due July 28th. We take solace in knowing that Phil will be watching over this child as he grows.

A man of many talents, Phil had a knack for fixing or building just about anything. His hands were never idle, and his creative mind was always at work, whether he was repairing a chimney or crafting a beautiful home from the ground up. His knowledge and ability were legendary. Phil was also an excellent farmer, nurturing both animals and vegetables with great success. His garden was a testament to his skill, yielding bountiful harvests that he shared with family and friends.

Phil was preceded in death by his brother, David M. Barlow, his mother, Cynthia B. Walenty and step father Edward Walenty. Though their loss was profound, Phil carried their memories with him, honoring them. Phil is also survived by his three sisters Linda St. Laurent, Margaret Walenty and Marry Lambert.

A wake in celebration of Phil’s life will be held on May 26th from 4-7 p.m. at the Foley-Cook New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 126 S Main Street, Attleboro, Massachusetts. We invite all who knew Phil to join us in honoring his life and legacy. For facility directions or memorial register please visit, www.newdayfunerals.com.

In closing, we remember Phil not with tears of sadness, but with smiles of gratitude for the countless lessons he taught us and the love he shared. One of his last wishes was for us not to mourn his passing, but to celebrate a life well-lived, filled with good times and cherished memories. As we say goodbye, we hold onto those memories, carrying Phil's spirit forward in our hearts. Those who are well remembered are never truly gone; they watch us from beyond lending strength to those they loved.
