FAIRHAVEN-Raymond R. Almeida, 82, of Fairhaven passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. Born in New Bedford, he was the son of the late Ledwina (Almeida) Martins and Louis Fernandes.

Ray was a foreman at Schaefer Marine until his retirement.  He enjoyed bowling and was a member of several teams at Wonderbowl.  He was also a former member of the Eagle's in Lakeville.

He is survived by his children, Robert M. Almeida of New Bedford, Richard J. Almeida and his wife Jennifer of Somerset and Rachel Almeida of New Bedford;  Seven grandchildren, Nathan, Amanda, Jonathan, Raquel, Aaron, Alex and Ericka; several great grandchildren;  a brother, Albert Martins and his wife Pat of New Bedford and several nieces and nephews.  Ray was the brother of the late Larry Almeida and Jose Martins.

Memorial calling hours are Sunday from 2-5pm in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday April 7, 2025 at 10AM in St. Francis Xavier Church, Acushnet.  Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, New Bedford.
