NEW BEDFORD-Richard E. Landis, 48, formerly of Wareham, passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with illness on February 13, 2024. He was born in Wareham and was the son of Linda (Pratt) Landis and the late Richard N. Landis.

Richard Attended Wareham High School and was employed as a welder at Cape Cod Ship Building for many years. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia and a very talented guitarist, having played in a local heavy metal band for many years. Richard will be remembered as a man who loved his family and would do anything for them. He was a man who did things his way and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Surviving in addition to his mother are his children, Taylor Landis and Myles Landis of Wareham; many lifelong friends and his best friend Jermaine Morales of New Bedford.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Donaghy New-Day Funeral Home, New Bedford.
