Obituary

Richard Paul Lemieux, 80, of Rehoboth, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 9, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Devoted husband of Betty Ann (Viera) Lemieux with whom he shared many wonderful years of marriage.

He was born in Central Falls, Rhode Island; son of the late Leopold and Laura (Dusfrene) Lemieux.

Richard proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. During his service, he earned the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, and recognition as a Sharpshooter Marksman. His dedication to duty and country was a source of pride throughout his life.

Professionally, Richard built a remarkable career as an electrical engineer with Texas Instruments, where he worked for 35 years before retiring. Richard also served as the electrical inspector for the town of Rehoboth for 20 years, contributing to the safety and well-being of his community.

A man of varied interests and passions, Richard was a proud member of NEATTA (New England Antique Tractor & Truck Association) for over 20 years. His love for tractors and all things outdoors brought him great joy and fulfillment. He was also a longtime member of Attleboro's Red Fox Club, where he enjoyed camaraderie and shared interests with fellow members.

In addition to his wife Richard is survived by his children Paul Lemieux and his husband Michael and Lisa Main and her husband Jeffrey; his sister Doris Perry and her husband Antone; his grandsons Alec Main and Nick Main and his wife Erica. Richard is also survived by his dear friends and neighbors, David and Debbie Roy.

Predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Diane Elderkin and her husband Victor.

Funeral service and burial will be private. A celebration of life will be announced at a later time.
