MATTAPOISETT-Richard Frances Myre (affectionately known as Rocn Ric) 65, of Mattapoisett, passed away on July 21 at home surrounded by his family after a long declining illness.
He was born in Salina, Kansas and was raised in Wareham MA and lived most of his life in Mattapoisett, MA. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. Rick had a passion for photography, taking formal pictures for many family and friends as well as private appts. He also DJd for many years at local establishments and private functions. He loved to make people laugh and smile and also had a passion for cooking. He was formally employed with the United States Post Office.
Richard is survived by his wife Audrey; his two daughters, Kaylie J. Huntley of Plymouth, Ma. and Allison Mackenzie Myre of Mansfield, MA; his sisters, Pam Piepiora of North Carolina, Cindy Piepiora and her significant other David (The Dude) of Brockton, Joanna and her husband Chris Mode of Thorndale, Texas; his brother, Steve and his wife Kim Myre of South Brunswick Township, New Jersey; his beloved grandsons, Ronald F. Morrell and Thomas Horn; all his nephews/nieces Luke and Madelyn Myre, Austin and his wife Ariel Piepiora, Rhiannon McKoy, Emma and Cameron Makuch and Micheal Morris; his sister in law, Cheryl Makuch McKoy and husband Matt of Whitman, MA, Brother in law Christopher J. Makuch and wife Shauna of Rochester, MA; Mother in laws, Donnalee R. Makuch of Mattapoisett and Nancy J. Makuch of Lebanon, Indiana; His Stepmother, Gayla Myre of New Jersey and Many other extended relatives.
He was predeceased by his father, Richard E. Myre of Clarkston, Michigan, mother, Terry E. (Santoro) Piepiora of Wareham, Ma. His father in law John J Makuch of Mattapoisett, Ma.
The family would like to send a special thank you to The South Coast Hospice Team for there impeccable care, and to his Home Health Aid, Lorraine, thank you for all your help and TLC you gave.
A private service will be held with immediate family with a celebration of life to honor Ric at a later date. Arrangements are by the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford. For memorial register please visit, www.newdayfunerals.com
