WEST WAREHAM- Robert I. Shaw, 79, of West Wareham formerly of Bristol, RI, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 9, 2026, at St. Luke's Hospital in New Bedford. He was the husband of 29 years to Patricia A. (Lucas) Shaw.

Born and raised in Attleboro, Bob was the son of the late Robert W. And Patricia (Hochberg) Shaw. He attended Attleboro schools and later worked as a ground's keeper at Heather Hills CC, in Plainville for 22 years. He lived in Bristol, RI for many years prior to settling in West Wareham in 2019.

He was a member of the American Legion in South Attleboro and the Elks Lodge in Bristol and later Wareham. He enjoyed playing cribbage with the grandchildren and winning against his daughters and trips to the casinos.

He is survived by his loving wife Pat; his children, Cathy Holden of South Attleboro and Alison Najjar and her husband Jerry of Mansfield; step children, Karen, Bobby, Phillip and the late Valerie; five grandchildren, Greg, Matthew, Kayla, Ryan and Rebecca; step grandchildren, Kenny, Kayla, Karen, Matthew, Sammy, Jack, PJ, Paul and Ashley; great grandchildren, Chase, Chloe, Zavien and Mia; step great grandchildren, Hayden, Lilia, Rylee, Emersyn, Landon, Raelyn and Aiden; his siblings, Diane Brissette, Mary Louise LaBrie and Linda Perry; as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob was the brother of the late Irving B. Shaw, Frederick W. Shaw, Barbara Ann Voyer and Winifred.

Calling hours are Tuesday from 4-7PM in the Foley Cook New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 126 South Main Street, Attleboro. His funeral service will be Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 11AM in the funeral home followed by cremation. Burial will be private.
