BUZZARD'S BAY-On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Rosemary Makara passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family.   Rosemary was born October 2, 1949 in New Bedford, Massachusetts.  She was an avid lover of animals as witnessed by her many pets over the years, particularly her bird, Weebles and her bunny, Anabelle.  Rosemary's love of animals was eclipsed by her love of God.  A devout Catholic, Rosemary had an unfailing devotion to Jesus and the Blessed Mother Mary.  She died holding a cross next to her heart and wearing a scapula.  May the Lord bring her home to Him.

Rosemary is survived by her loving son, Russell, her daughter-in-law, Meg, her grandchildren Elizabeth and Russell, her sister Ellen (Tootsie) and her nieces Karen, Susan, Debbie, and nephew Armand as well as many other family members. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elmira and George, her brothers Robert and George, and her sisters Pearl and Janet.

A  Funeral Mass to be held at Saint Margaret of Scotland in Buzzards Bay on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 10:00 am with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Bedford, Massachusetts.  Arrangements are by the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral Care, 465 County Street, New Bedford.  For memorial register please visit, www.newdayfunerals.com.
