Rui C. Viveiros, 57, of New Bedford passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at home.& He was the husband of the late Rosa (Geraldo) Viveiros.

Born and raised in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, son of the late Leonardo V. Raposo and Maria (Gomes) Raposo, he came to New Bedford in 1978. Rui was a member of the Teamsters Union #251 and had worked at Scott Brass. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by his children, Alex Viveiros of Fall River, Bryan Viveiros and his wife Emaly of East Providence, RI and Debbie Viveiros and her companion Mark DeBrito of Fairhaven; three brothers, Abel C. Viveiros and his wife Anna Monteforte of Taunton, Leonardo Viveiros and his wife Connie and Antonio Viveiro all of New Bedford; two sisters, Ilda and Maria Viveiros both of Wareham; five grandchildren, Brenden, Ethan, Preston, Maleigh and Kendrick.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm in the Donaghy New Day Cremation and Funeral care, 465 County St., New Bedford. The family asks that masks be worn and please no physical contact during the visitation. His funeral will be Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 8am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, New Bedford.
