Sandra Marie Knickerbocker (née Botelho), of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly after a long battle with illness on December 23, 2025. She was born on July 22, 1948, and was a lifelong resident of New Bedford.

Sandra was retired from a long and dedicated career as a cafeteria worker for the New Bedford Public School Department. She took pride in her work and was known for her gentle and sweet nature, her loving heart, and her most infectious and instantly recognizable laugh. Sandra was deeply kind, endlessly caring, and passionately devoted to her family, who meant everything to her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Knickerbocker of New Bedford; his children, Scott Knickerbocker of New Bedford, Ken Knickerbocker and his partner Gena Ash of New Bedford, Lisa Knickerbocker of New Bedford, and Amy Blum of New Bedford; and his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Shania Lafrance of New Bedford; her niece, Shyanne Gray, and Shyanne's partner, Selina Pereira of Acushnet; her niece, Savanah Gray; her nephews, Sampson Little and Eric Gray of New Bedford; along with several cousins, and many dear friends.

Sandra was predeceased by her parents, Anthony Botelho and Gilda Botelho (née Alexander) of New Bedford; her brothers, Stephen Botelho and Alex Botelho; her sister, Kim Botelho, all of New Bedford; her sons, Dana Gadapee and David Lafrance of New Bedford; and her niece, Stephanie Botelho, and her partner, Daniel Gray of Acushnet.

In honoring Sandra's wishes, there will be no services held.
