NEW BEDFORD-Sandra V. (Correiro) Ponte, 62, of New Bedford passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Thursday, October 15, 2026. She was the loving wife of John Ponte.

Born in Jacksonville, FL, daughter of the late Joseph and Valentina (Medeiros) Correiro, she enjoyed spending time with her family, she loved her family with all of her being, she was the glue to her family for sure. Sandra also enjoyed going to the beach, (her favorite place) her plants and cooking for family and friends. She love holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Easter.

She loved to dance and her love language was feeding her family their favorite foods and seeing beauty in the little things, like the foliage in fall or beautiful shells on the beach.

Sandra is survived by her loving husband John; her beloved children, Harmonie Mendez Hannah, James, Michael and Joseph Ponte; her grandchildren, Olivia, Rieley, Michael, Elliot, Zaryana and Zavanah. She is also survived by her brother, Clark Correiro and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late David, Robert and Joseph Correiro.
